Sunset at 10:50pm

We had another two nights in a crowded camp site and are longing for solitude. We decide to go for a hard-core solitude site farther north at the Sogne Fjord.

The last 15km of the drive indicate that we have chosen the right camp site: It is a kind of dead-end road most of the time with one lane only. The camp site itself is directly located at the fjord and gives a spectacular view.

There is space for about 30 campers but there are not more than 20. Every party has an abundance of space, and can decide where to set up the camp and in what direction the car is facing. The last camp site had clear rules that RV had to face the lake and not farther than 3m to the neighbouring car.

Today there is no 3m-rule and I can test the RV´s Bose sound system with Wagner's “Ride of the Valkyries”.

As you can see this is the perfect setting for a sunset drink in our lounge chairs. Please, keep in mind that we are coming closer to the Arctic Circle i.e. sunset is around 10:30pm. Enjoy the photos.

Midnight at the Sogne Fjord. No flash. No photoshop.
